I was part of a core team of individuals that was head office based. I was working on three different projects, all in different phases of execution ranging from Conceptual Design through to Site Erection. All these projects are multi disciplinary, consisting of design, procurement, fabrication and erection of piping, civil works, structural steel fabrication and erection, electrical and instrumentation erection, as well as close-outs, in the petrochemical industry and the mining industry. Using Primavera and Microsoft Projects software, I helped to compile & update level 4 integrated schedules for all these projects, providing weekly, as well as monthly reports for Management meetings. All subcontractors’ schedules were incorporated as sub-projects into our over-all schedule, creating a level 4 integrated schedule. The compilation of graphs for progress measurement, indicating the earned man-hours versus the planned man-hours. Assisted with Management and co-ordination of interface milestones with sub-contractors. The familiarity with contract documents, general conditions, special conditions, scope of work and contractual drawings is of great importance. Compiling of schedules as a basis for compensation events, indicating the loss of time, scope growth or additional manpower required to complete the scope in the given time. Analyzing sub-contractor’s schedules to make sure they are still on schedule, checking earned progress versus planned progress.
