In this role I was responsible for ensuring development of a team of planners to improve the delivery of the program of work and associated planning activities and inter-relationships with other business units and delivery partners. This involved being hands on in building schedules from first principles and using continuous improvement in the estimation and forward planning of all projects.

 

Achievements

•       Developed planning approach and methods to manage over 14000 projects schedules (average 100 activities lines per schedule).

•       Developed schedule models for 27 different projects types.

•       Defined approach and management of interdependencies between projects.

•       Effective monitoring and controlling of projects by establishment and maintenance of standard schedule models for use across all projects deliver areas.

•       20% improvement in data quality through provision of planning and scheduling consultancy services to delivery partners.

•       Ability to identify problems by introduction of schedule health checks and driving standardisation across departments, allowing for mitigation prior to impact.

•       50% reduction in rolling wave planning cycle (quarterly) through effective collaboration with stakeholders.

•       On time delivery of planning cycles, developed and managed quarterly as per business process outcomes enabling informed decisions to be made (rolling 10 year plan with over 14000 projects).

•       Continuous improvement in planning standardisation and analysis across delivery regions leading to improved time cost and quality deliver of projects.
