It is usually done with a puinch list which is then sorted into some sort of priority order - on a spreadsheet. When the defect is repaired the item is ticked off the sheet. The example that you have stated has no relevance to construction programming. I am fully aware of the Asta, but it is using the conventional steps, which is allow users to attach images, not using the build-in camera from the iPAD or Android to snap photos straight away and done. >But then I have been doing this for years using my Nokia mobile phone and spreadsheets. Conventional Steps Using your Nokia Phone, you would take photos of the defect. of issue You would carry around your laptop and enter the item in your Spreadsheet. you would then need to carefully enter in which photos is related to which issue on your spreadsheet. THEN: you would go back to your desk, plug in your NOKIA phone to download the pictures. You will need to copy and paste these information into a Primavera database or Asta and attachment the images to the correct ISSUE, You will now be careful not to mix up which photo for which issue line item on the spreadsheet. (this can be tricky, if you have many picture for 1 issue) any all these step is fine, if you only have a few issue / defect in your project. DANGCORP steps Using the iPAD or any tablet (Android) you will enter in the necessary categories (user codes, WBS, system etc...) this will then be use to route to which repair team, which department to get this issue, defect fix. Then click on the CAMERA and it will lauch the build-in iPAD camera. take your photo and you are done. an email notificaiton will be send to the correct team to get the issue fix. REAL LIFE EXAMPLE Inspector one would walk around a construction site, while he/she is snapping up issues/defect on the building with her iPAD, a team gets notification and fix it immediately. this is good for SHELL petrol maintenance and turn around etc.... Thanks Mike and look forward to yours and the planners up here feedback on the system.
