The data will not be affected at all from upgrading to P6. For the layout you can export to file to ensure it wont be lost. In P6 there will be project-specific layout.

Hi Raphaël.
I did it last week (P5 to P6 standalone update). Everything went smoothly except PMDB update to new version.
Had to call Primavera support :-) After DB updating everything is ok.
