Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Hi Gaudi,

Based on Primavera technical support:

Problem: Error: Problem with Autosort Execution--Run Stopped

Fix: There are several reasons why this error is displayed.

Check the name of the project for invalid characters. Invalid characters can be a period (.) or semi-colon (;).

Delete the USERS50.P3 file from the directory where the project is stored, after ensuring no users have this project open.

Run PFXW if the error is project specific.

Open the P3.INI file (go to Start, Run and enter p3.ini) and set the option to CreateSrtWithFlt to 1 in the [Options] section.

[Options]
CreateSrtWithFlt=1

If the error occurs in multiple projects, replace the USERFIL.P3 file. How to replace the USERFIL.P3 file.

Open the SORTOUT.LOG file in the USERLOC directory. If it contains the message, "Unable to lock multi-user record" replace the USERFIL.P3 file. How to replace the USERFIL.P3 file.

Confirm that there is enough disk space available in the USERLOC directory. There should be at least twice as much free disk space as the space the project requires. For example, if the project uses 1.3MB, there should be at least 2.6MB of free disk space. To locate the USERLOC directory, go to Start, Run and type P3.INI. This will open the P3.INI file in Notepad.

Check the attributes of the USERFIL.P3 file in Explorer and confirm that it is not set to "Read Only."

Shorten the path if the path to the project is over 32 characters long.

Copy the project to a new name.

Confirm that the file, ASORTWIN.DLL, is in the PROGLOC directory. To locate the PROGLOC directory, open the P3.INI file by going to Start, Run and typing P3.INI. If the file does not exist, run SETUP UTIL from the P3 CD to extract the file. How to run Setup Util.

If running Btrieve NLM or Pervasive.SQL v 8.*, confirm that the USERLOC directory (P3OUT) is located on the server running Pervasive SQL. This directory must be unique per user. After creating a unique USERLOC directory for each user on the server, the USERLOC setting in each user’s local P3.INI file must be modified to point to their directory on the server. For example,
[Directories]
PROGLOC=F:\P3WIN\P3PROGS
WORKLOC=F:\P3WIN\P3WORK
USERLOC=F:\USERS\\P3OUT

For more information on how to configure P3 on Pervasive.SQL v8, see How to run P3 on Pervasive.SQL v8.*

For Windows NT clients, verify that Files=120 in the CONFIG.NT file. For Windows 95 clients, verify that Files=120 in the CONFIG.SYS file.

Configure the PC for 16-bit Btrieve.

Regards
