Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I am facing a problem while assigning the calendar to activities. Actual I assign a calendar of 12 hours per day working but P6 pick up 11 hours per day and in the next day working should be start at 6:00AM but it is going to start on 14:00 PM why it’s all happening I don’t know.

Hello Zahid,

P6 records durations in hours.  When you enter the duration in days, P6 multiplies your entry by the hours-per-day of the activity's calendar and saves the result (in hours.)  If you later change the calendar, P6 does not automatically go back and modify the duration.  This is normal.

Avoid "this problem" by thinking about your activity calendars (i.e. hours per day) before entering durations in days.

Good luck, tom

I would start by adjusting User Preferences to increase decimal places in time units/Durations format.  A1000 runs from 0600 to 1600 (10 hours) clearly not a full 1 day on a 12-hour calendar.  Chances are you changed calendars after specifying durations, so your durations may now include fractional parts of days that you cannot see.

Look for Activity 1010 FS relationship with lag as shown in your figure, this lag value might be part of your problems. Also remember to check what calendar is the lag calendar.

Good Luck.

Majeed,

At first instance check time in scheduling box, it looks to me that you haven't setup correctly scheduling time.

It should be appear

scheduling date + time (00:01)

If you fix it in this order then i hope your probelm will be resolved.

Thanks,

Azher Kalhoro
