This is an everyday scheduling issue at many jobs. I deal with similar scenarios using Skills and Volume of Work functionality; it is easy to create a dynamic model that will automatically react to changes in resource availability, demand and production rates. How it is currently done in P6 I do not know.

All activities were independent. We are having two resources (Lathe 1 and Lathe 2). Is it possible in Primavera , resource assignment will be done automatically depends on the resource loading to give better result.
Means that assignement of Lathe 1 / Lathe 2 for the above activities will be done in primavera to get optimal results.

I use other software but believe the following copy-paste procedure can be used in P6.
Create the typical resource loaded operation within a WBS Band and then copy and paste to same or other project as needed. This is for when creating a schedule, not after all activities are created, but you said “will consists of many similar operations” so it might still be an option.
For when activities are already created instead of assigning individual resources we use multi-resources that represent a whole crew along with its attributes such as the quantity of each resource, the workload, the productivity ... then at the multi-resource dialog box we select the activities, click and done, easy.
Good luck.

you gave 2 options
option #1 just make one resocue call it lumsum and filter for actviites that you can to assign it to
highlight all of those activiites and Rigth click and select assign then select resources and select the lumpsum that you just created
this will assign all of these activities to the lumpsum resource
now export to excel and populate yourunits and or cost and import back into p6
Option #2 assign the resource based on an actvity code lets say your actvity code called TYPE that requires a machines has a code value called MACH
creaet the different resources that you need lets say Machinest
then go to tools global chage
uptop chage the Select Subject Area to Activity Resource Assignment
then use this
Where TYPE equal MACH
then Resource ID = whatever your machinest resource is
then execute the global change
now export to excel and populate yourunits and or cost and import back into p6
