Recalling from P3 that were able to create a native P3 file from a filtered layout, wonder if possible to do the same in P6. May be infront of the eyes and not able to see. Do not want to go to the path of deleting unwanted activities and then create XEr fiile of remaining activity. Thanks.

Thanks. I kind of figured that out. I guess for what I need is to filter for unwated activities and delete them and what is remainging can be exported to XER file, assuming the predecessor ties are not of interest/value and no calculation (F9) needs to be done. Yes, amazingly filtering exists if you dump information to Excel!

it is not possible to apply a filter when exporting a project to an XER file; and the export process does not use the current filter either
amazingly, it is possible to filter activities when exporting to MS Excel!
