Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Whilst accepting that P3e is an entirely different product to P3, how have other users found the baseline functionality - or rather limitations of it compared to P3.

i.e. if new tasks are added, the update of existing baselines etc

Hi,

Yes indeed the function of Target update is missing. But maybe this helps a little bit.
If you restore the baseline as a project an open the formal baseline and the current project you wil be able to sort (or organize) on activity ID. What you get is current and baseline activity grouped together so its easier tot compare (the difference)

As a workaround you can delete and recreate the baseline assuming you have not changed other activity data.

And if that feature is very important to you, you can develop it using Primavera Ingration API.

Cheers Allan,

So the bottom line appears to be that a very important function/feature does not have much flexibility.

This is a known issue in the current version of P3e. I understand it will be rectified in V 5.0 due for release in 1st quarter 2005. This will allow the same functionality that exists in P3 to update the baseline as new tasks are added.
