Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I get the message ’PROJ environment variable is too long’ and this is preventing me from scheduling my P3 programme. Can anyone suggest a solution ? Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

This has been discussed several times before...

This happens when you store your project files in a deep directory (consisting of multiple levels of subdirectories).

Simply save your project files to a directory consisting of only a few levels.

for example => C:\P3WIN\PROJECTS

I hope this helps..

The name of the directory folders where you save your file should not be longer then 4 characters. If you have your file in D:/Schedules/projects/cpm.prx it should be D:/Sche/proj/cpm.prx.
