Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

importing Resource ID + resource description?

Hello guys

I have been able to extract from my company Informative system the list of all our coded resources.

Now, in my excel file, I have the list of all the resources’s ID, the description, the Unit and the price.

Is there any way to import in P3 at least the resource ID AND the description?
What I have been able to do so far, by exporting and importing a dbf file, is loading all the Resource ID.
It means that when I look at the resource dictionary all the resources ID show up but the resource description field is (of course) blank.

any suggestion?

Flippo, Those files are available in P3 Installation CD. You check your CD first not the HD.

Hi Filippo,

You can try this way also..

Go to tools,than update data directory.

after that use report smith to get desired reports..

or file daya is refereing are some time under Primavera3.0/Support/UTILS/Excel.

because I do not have this folder called "RA" can you please explain this procedure more in detail?

even searching the file you mentioned (project.xls/activity.xls ) I cannot find anything in my HD

Hi,

You can use project.xls/activity.xls to update p3 resources dictionary(including the description) and activities(Resources) in p3. those files can be found from P3 under Ra folder.
