Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

Dear Friends,

How can I open a project via PRX file obtained from the backup of the project. When I do it through Explorer it opens several files and also then on double clicking opens a Extract Project box.

After double clicking the PRX file an "extract to" dialoge appears, then specify a folder in your hard drive to extract to.
After that open P3 as normal and use "open" dialoge box to open the project from that folder you specified.
