I was the company planning engineer, which entailed working for both the construction and estimating departments on current projects and tenders. The company was a small contracting firm which specialised on traditional single stage tendering . For a normal tender I would produce a tender programme, Phasing Sketches and a cash flow for the submisson, and also a small risk matrix for the rest of the team to respond to and also populate.
     
On the Live Projects, I would assist with programming advice and create programmes for the site when necessary. Again there is a scope for collecting as built data, I designed a simple way for the sites to collect this data and keep accurate records. This would be the basis for me to report the companies MD for the months progress and separate health check for the projects. I was also started to have responsibility out with my planning role, for example starting to develop a waste policy.

The projects I was involved with were Sporting Complex’s, Sheltered Housing, and Mixed Developments.
