Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

I am having a strange problem with one of my P3 files.
All the data is showing OK but the bars disappeared from the timescale window.
When I looked at the format/bar option this had gone balnk - i.e. no bar was sepcified.....so I set up the early start bar as normal. Clicked on the close button but still no activity bars. Looked at format/bars and it was blank again.

Have tried copying the project to another name but the same problem.
Have had someone else open the project but the same problem.

I have opened other projects and here I can see the bars as normal.

It suggests that one of the project files is corrupted/missing but does anyone have any idea which one, and can I copy this missing/corrupt file from another project and "fix" the problem this way?

Your thanks in advance
Steve

Yes cheers Gary.
I just came back onto the forum to say that this was indeed the problem.
I could see the bars on my target project so I copied the xxxxLAY.P3 file and renamed it yyyyLAY.P3 and it worked fine.
The column layout has changed to that of the target project but that is easy fixed but at least now I can continue and get my reports sent out.
Thanks for your help and hope it helps others if they hit a similar problem.

Have you tried transfering a layout from another project?

If that doesn’t work, I’m fairly sure the P3 file which holds the layout data is *LAY.P3.
I’ve never tried replacing it with a file from another project, but so long as you’ve made a copy it can’t hurt to try.

Good luck!
