Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

how can we increase it???

There is also another way to add more 20 chars of description by inserting new column using custom data items then just change the activity title ie. add. desc

I agree with Ron that the 48-character limit should suffice for an activity description, but there is a way you can add more characters when creating a bar chart. You can use the "log" field" to add in your extra characters and butt it up against the end of your description field, so it appears that it is all one field.

The P3 limit of 48 characters for an activity description is not really a bad thing. Just remember that you are going to want to print this description in reports. The more space you use with wordy descriptions, the less space is available for the actual data that you are really interested in reporting on. Over the years, I have found the 48-character limit to be just about perfect.
