Tips on using this forum..

(1) Explain your problem, don't simply post "This isn't working". What were you doing when you faced the problem? What have you tried to resolve - did you look for a solution using "Search" ? Has it happened just once or several times?

(2) It's also good to get feedback when a solution is found, return to the original post to explain how it was resolved so that more people can also use the results.

When I update my schedule, I updated my schedule manually for 50 % 100 % completed activities. But when I click the update progress the activities not yet even started show 5 % 10 % completed. Any friend may please guide?

Dear Paul,
When you do automatic update, then P3 assume that everything are moving as per plan and update every activity as per initial base plan. If there are any deviations then update as mentioned by Arvin and Anoon.

some people are claiming that P3 is becoming obsolete while others still don’t have a clue! (including me);

P3 is using Duration; Resource Units and Costs

in updating P3 by just putting actuals, make sure you chose Duration

when you’re using Resources Units (which i supposed seldom used or never), make sure you got all the quantities!

when using Cost! I’m sure you’ll never get what you want!

Update progress is an automatic way of updating a project. Meaning P3 quickly estimates activity dates, percent complete amounts, and remaining durations as of the new data date you specified by dragging the data-date line or by using the Progress Spotlight feature.
