S Curve re-baseline retrospective comparison

Dear All,

I have re-baselined a percentage complete (earned Man-hour value / budgeted Manhour value)  v/s. Time S - Curve at 75% project completion.

Subsequently I have been asked to determine Retrospectively , what was the earned value % when the project was at 50% completion. In such a case should the earned value % be

a) Actual earned value % (say 45% at 50% completion) because the rebaselining had been done AFTER 50% milestone had been completed OR

sewerage, storm water and irrigation network

S
Sunil Babu 👤 Member for 15 years 7 months

Dear All,

For the construction of a sewerage network how can we arrange a sheet piling schedule inorder to cover a manhole series

ranging from 5m to 14m depth. Productivity will be varying depends on depth also re-using of sheet piles are also a matter of concern. This area pipelaying is also doing along with micro-tunneling work.

Your comments will be highly appreciated.

Regards,

S.Babu.

Engineering / document approvals in Primavera P6

Hello,

I am creating a new schedule and want to understand best practices by experts here.

How are you managing engineering or document approvals in your schedule?

  1. Submission/Approval - as a single activity?
  2. Submission linked to approvals - as separate activities?
  3. Or you manage it in a separate software and update percentages only to WBS summaries?

Thanks in advance,

Haroon

NUMEROUS ADDITION OF WORK TO BASELINE PROGRAM

Hi, I have been working in a Project with duration of 9months, supposed to complete by Sep'13. Due to various alterations in the Finishing Schedule and Nomination of new works, the project has been dragged till date, with every day addition of new works.

Now, the Management has asked us to submit an impacted program for depicting delay incurred, basically for claim.

Kindly advise, what should be the approach as the baseline program has nearly lost its orginality due to numerous changes.

Baseline Schedule made up of several projects linked together

Ladies and Gents,

Just wondering what are the contractual implications of producing a baseline schedule (in P6) that is made up of several projects which are linked together (through external relationships from project to another)!

Thank you,

Rami

Redundant ties as basis for schedule rejection

S
Steve Eiden 👤 Member for 21 years 9 months

Has anyone successfully countered the USACE's position on rejecting a schedule with redundant ties? My position is that there is constructive logic and preferential logic in a schedule and that both are legitimate. I don't think the corps specs refer specifically to redundant logic but their representatives are misinterpreting the language for their benefit. As far as I can see the justification for clearing redundant ties is to limit clutter and make it easier for Fuse to run risk analysis...I could care less about either of these and want the owner out of my schedule. Thoughts?

Reporting multiple critical.paths

Good morning all,

I have been a planner for about 18 months now and for the first time I have been asked by the SPM to produce a report showing the first five critical paths.

How do I get P6 to display this? Is this best presented as a programme with multiple, different coloured paths or is there a reporting template which I can go on to update each quarter?

Thank you.

Gary
