Cost loading in Programme

K
Kannan CP 👤 Member for 18 years

Hi all,

Which is the best option to assign a resouce type for cost loading (labour, non-labour or material)? My intention to assign a cost loading resource (with unit rate 1/hr) fo all activites to develop the overall budget cost as per contract value. Will also insert other resources (lan, non lab and mat) with out any unit rate, for the required construction activities.

Cash flow distribution in P6

I need to change the way that P6 distribute the budget cost. Its distribute the cost for each work hour ,for example if I have one activity start on 10 Apr.14 and finish on 10.May.14 the P6 will devide the cost of the activity to two parts , one in april and one in may according to the units ( the work hours ).

but I need to make the P6 respect the start or finish dates.,to put the total cost of the activity in one month .

there is some way ?

Lime Mortar & Portland Cement

Lads,

Whats the different in terms of drying time for Lime Mortar and Portland Cement?

Lets say its half brick thick and English Bond.

I think as below, assume brick thickness is 65mm and mortar thick is 10mm.

1. Lime Mortar - 6 layers of brick / day for curing (About 450mm of height)

2. Cement Mortar - 15 layers of bricks / day for curing (about 1125mm if height)

I mean the restriction for maximum of bricks can do as the mortar need to be cured before more bricks can be built vertically

Primavera P6 and Powerproject

Hi,

I have been using Asta Powerproject for a few years now so I am quite familiar with the software. However, i am moving to a new company on Monday which they will be using Primavera p6.

I have been watching video on Youtube about P6 and it makes me a bit worry. I feel P6 has a lot more small details compare to powerproject.

What do you think about this software? I cannot compare it as i have never used P6 before but Powerproject is quite familiar to me.

Thanks

OTB reprogram S=P or S=P=A

Hi all

Ive got a client who is about to replan for OTB. They are arguing internally about whether to set s=p or s=p=a. I'm of the opinion that they should do the latter so that CPI and SPI are reset to 1. There is no particular reason why they should maintain the cost variance in the replan.

I wonder if anyone knows of any official standards or studies to support the position that s=p=a is the way to proceed. The ANSI/EIA standards are painfully vague and there is plenty of anectodal reasons, but i'd love something formal to clarify the point.

Cheers
