Alter Performance % Complete

Hi all,

 

I am a planner based in the Middle East still learning different aspects of Primavera P6.I have a doubt actually which I came across on a previous post in this forum but had no proper answers.

My question is,is it posssible to alter the performance % of a particular activity when we have assigned cost to it?

As far as I understand,

The performance % is calculated as Earned Value Cost = Activity % Complete X Budgeted Cost ( in the baseline )

Freshers/beginner/planning to start a career in planning

unit % complete not able to update in Status bar

Hi guys,

I am facing a problem that only for specfic activities i am not able to update any Unit % complete or remaining duration in the status bar.

And also it is showing the critical path in the primavera P6.

The schedule has negative float while submitting to client and it is approved.

Can any one guide how can i resolve the problem ????

Resetting the Baseline on a Progress with Progress Applied?

Hi

 

I was just wondering if anyone cold provide any guidnace on resetting the baseline in P6 when your project already has progress in it?

For example, I have a project that has progress applied for 6 months and now have a Compensation Event (Delay Claim) which needs to be added to baseline.

Delay by total float vs. delay by variance

Hi All!



We are using P6 in our project, one of our consultant is calculating activity delays using the variance dates (BL FInish - Finish), my point of view as a planner is the actual delays in the activity can be viewed once we run the schedule as P6 determines delay after calculating the schedule (critical path).



I would like to ask what is the effective way of computing delays in the activity?

Is it by total float or is it by variance? Any advantages or disadvantages of these two?

Resource Assignment summary

Dear All,

After assigning a resource when I open Project - Resource assignment it is showing blank . Is there any settings that has to be changed inorder to show the resource summary ( Budgeted units) by month. Any thing related to report settings to be modified ?

I already added primary resource column and it is displaying that resource.

Time Impact Analysis Schedule

Hello,

I was asked to prepare an example TIA - Time Impact Analysis Schedule in P6.

To do this, I would first prepare a normal baseline schedule, and then, assign delays to certain activities and prepare a second, delayed schedule? And calculate a variance?

How can i do this? Time ipact schedule is just the delayed version of the normal schedule?

In primavera what commands or tools there are for this?
