METHOD STATEMENT FOR CONCRETE WORK

Hello, I'm working on a simple plan for an office building. it's some how decided that project life time is double concrete work life time. so, what I'm looking for is productivity rates regarding to concrete work as well as Method Statement for Concrete Work (Foundation, Slabs, Columns, etc....) something to tell me what is my limits instead of putting 140 workers to finish 5000 sqm slab in 10 days.

Regards,

Ahmad Abdrabou.

Time Management Questionnaire

I am currently undertaking research of time management practices in construction as part of an MSc in Construction Project Management. I would be grateful if anyone involved in the management of construction projects (even at pre-construction stage) could spend approx. 5 minutes completing my questionnaire on the link below:

Help on P6 Remaining early start

Hi all,

As I keep on thinking about P6 remaining early start description, I keep getting confused. The description says ' Remaining early start is basically the earliest date an activity in-progress can start or continue after the data date'.

My question is why would an activity in-progress start or continue?  As it is already progressing why describe it as continuing?

Is this just a poor description? I will appreciate if somebody can throw more light on this.

Thank you.

Anthony

Task dependent activity - right or wrong?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at having a discussion or debate in regards to the wisdom of having an activity type that is task dependent. In P6, a Task dependent activity is described as 'an activity that is scheduled according to the activity's calendar rather than the calendar of assigned resources'.

Import update from PMS(excel) to multiple programs in P6

Hi All,

I am a fresh planner and very recently my boss allowed me to start updating the program. The issue is that i am having a baseline and recovery programs and i have to update same activities twice which consumes a lot of time, bcoz first i update the PMS and then take same percentages (for baseline and recovery)  in program manually reducing the remaining duration appropriately.

How can i save time by exporting and importing to apply update. i have seen my boss doing it but i dont know how to do it. i know how to use vlookup.

Controlling Contractor's Schedules

Hello, I hope I'm posting in the right section.

My question is, How do I control Contractor schedule as a consultant, while I should do cost control on myself (as consultant) for the same project?

If I speak my mind, I'd say, I can do one of the following:

1- Using Primavera P6, I'd make all in one project, then WBS would look like:

1-Project xxx

1.1-Engineering (By Head Office)

1.2-Project Management (By supplied personnel to working site)
