Power Generation - Civil Construction of a Steam Turbine Table

I recently told that there is a International Construction Norm for the Civil Construction of a Steam Turbine Table but I find that almost impossble to believe since the designs and constructability vary based on the size of the proposed Stator Unit.

I am currently working on a 6 x 800 MW Power Station and wonder whether there are other individuals that have worked on a similar project so I may do a comparitive assessment to see if our current duration is similar.

Thanks

Resources

According to our contract with our client, We should not exceed 200 (men) resources at any given time. However when i extract information from Primavera to do my resource Histogram I get more than 200 (men) resources. If i get more than 200 (men) resources i must level these resources to be less than 200 (men) resources. My problem is how do i level these resources on my schedule? in my schedule i have a completion milestone which does not move as it is a constraint. so how do i level these resources?

AS BUILT PROGRAM

Hi,

I need advice from experts.

PROBLEM: Get an Approval of As Built Program

SITUATION: Theres an Approved Program, however, the Client requested for As Built Program. My Managers gave the duration for each activity. The Client are not happy and continue giving bad letter. We make the program detailed as per they required. They are not giving comment technically like referring to each item or activity ID. Instead, theres still alot of mistakes. I keep on revising the program and ask if I can update it, they refuse and they still want an AS BUILT.

What does the following mean when doing schedule analysis

R
Raul Santos 👤 Member for 16 years 8 months

What does it mean when you run a Varance Report (comparing end dates between the baseline schedule against the current schedule) and you have negative variance for some activities and also TF = 0 for those same activities? These activities have slipped to the right (delayed), but still meet the schedule end date. How can this happen? Can you please explain what might be happening? Thanks in advance for your responses.

Schedule transition in different stage

L
louis hung 👤 Member for 18 years 2 months

Hi all Planners,

In my company, we have regular process of scheduling.(FEL1/2/3,schedule implementation, facility operation..)

It means project team and me need to initial schedule at the early schedule before we issue PO to vendor or subcontractor.

So, Schedule will base on the previous project experience to develop.

Here is my question.

filter problem

K
Kashif Khan 👤 Member for 14 years 7 months

I have a resource loaded program which is of 500 activities.

1. I want to filter WBS for a single resource but i cannot get the milestones in that WBS which are the responsibility of same resource becoz in P6 we cannot assign resources to a milestones, now what to do?

2. If i want to filter the same resource under different WBS then what should i write in the filter?

regards,

kashif

MS Project to P6

Dear All,

I need to convert all my programmes in MS Project into P6 version 2. I have done the conversion process as below:

1. Save MS Project as XML

2. Import XML file in P6.

I did the steps but it turns out the programme created in p6 does not have relationships and the activiy ID and description were all changed.

Does anyone know of any other method of doing this like using excel?

Thanks.

why different values?

K
Kashif Khan 👤 Member for 14 years 7 months

Dear Planners,

Plz refer to the picture, my query is, why the value of budgeted hours (in red circle) is different as we multiply the price/unit with budgeted units (showing 8 but actually its 7.5 hours per day calender), as it should be 104x7.5=780 rather than 777

Please answer.

regards,

kk
