P6 Scheduling (F9)

Hi all,

I need help on P6 scheduling. I have a project which starts on Dec. 2015 and after inserting the activities I press F9 and selecting data date which is in Dec. 2015, the activity is registred as having started as I see on the activity information that the start box is checked and the activity bar has changed. My question, why would the F9 (scheduling) make the project to start when the date is a future date?

You comments are appreciated.

Typical compressor/metering station schedule

Dear Members, I am working on developing L3 Schedule for compressor/metering stations, I would appreciate sort of help, such as the overall duration for a typical compressor station/metering station.
On the discipline level, durations for foundations, buildings, mechanical, E&I works, identify critical equipment.

Here is my email address: [email protected]

How to Make Critical Path Drag a Standard PM Metric?

I just posted a new blog article titled “How to Make Critical Path Drag a Standard PM Metric?”. You can find it here.

After posting a number of articles in the past few weeks about drag and drag cost, I am now genuinely asking for suggestions/advice.

This article is also the lead-off for a new feature on my blog: a new discussion forum  where readers can now go to:

Answers to the May 22nd PM Puzzler: Computing Drag Cost in Human Lives

The answers and explanations for last weekend's PM Puzzler are now http:// https://totalprojectcontrol.wordpress.com/2015/05/27/274/up at the Total Project Control blog site.

It was not a simple exercise, but a total of 241 readers read the article over the four days. To me, that's encouraging, and means that project management folks are interested in more than just the simplest of information and techniques. I think I'll keep doing this.

Fraternally in project management,
