Excel Dates to P6

Is anybody here could inform me what format of start & finish dates in excel that could be imported straight in P6 and gives me the correct dates to P6? Is this possible? If so, this will save us time to create a project in P6 wherein we don't need to input anything in P6 but by importing all data from excel like activity ID, Activity Name, Start and Finish dates. Thus, do i need to use dates in custom format or real dates in excel or text date or gen date? All these didn't work actually. What else then?

arif hameed 👤 Member for 18 years 5 months

Dear Friends,

I would like to get guidance for calculating progress and producing curvs for a remeasurable contract +/- 20% contract value.

I would like to brief the project first.

It is a sewer pipeline work and the whole scope is divided in to small sections.

Each section is alloted quantity as per the contract drawings.

The Boq amount is distributed pro rated as per the above quaintities, curves are produced and approved.

Procurement Plan vs Procurement Schedule

R
Raul Santos 👤 Member for 16 years 8 months

Can the experienced guys tell me about the difference? I need to develop a Level 3 Schedule that includes engineering, procurement and construction. However, there is also a document called "procurement plan", which I think is managed by the procurement group or the cost people. Can you please tell me the difference? Which is developed first?

Project Cost

Hi,

I am trying to create a cost centre for my company here. I have a few question

a) i look at my company bill of quantities and it look scattered and i feel very hard to transfer the cost from my excel sheet prepared by my estimator to the programme. An example of the excel sheet as below. this is only 1 page and this project has 100 pages of excel sheets. sometime, the items in the programme are not the same and sometime, for example, the excavation item done by my estimator include the concrete cost as well.

Duration of Concrete Works

Dear All,

I am working on a project in Middle East. It is a 48 storeyed tower. The total duration of the Project is 27 months. The schedule prepared by the Contractor shows the Concrete Works finishing after 20 months. The Client is objecting that seven months after completing concrete works is not sufficient to complete the remaining activities. They are saying that as per Industry Standard the concrete works should not take more than 60% of the total project duration.

I want to know if such standard exists.
