Activity Codes and hours not rolling up correctly

S
S M 👤 Member for 13 years 8 months

Hi All,

i have an issue when looking at several projects, when looking at resource hours as a group and sort and grand totals, it adds up the total of each resource correctly for all projects. However when I seekt to do this to roll up hours for all resources with an activity code (for function or Budget owner code of that resource) it does not add up correctly to give the correct grand total and often there will be a '...' or blank space where I know from earlier group and sorts there is the correct resource displayed in that month.

Change activity project codes assignments from a User Defined Field using Global Change in Primavera P6

B
Baz Kawar 👤 Member for 14 years 8 months

I am having difficulty using Global Change to set to assign to an activity the Activity Project Code value from a User Defined Field Value, it forces me to mannually enter the Activity Project Code value, Why? it should allow me just to simply to make the code value equal the value in the User Defined Field.

XER Viewers and Schedule Updates

Hi Folks,

Has anyone made use of XER viewers to provide the broader project team with more access to schedule details than would be generally practical with, for example, a PDF copy? These details may relate to a variety of dependencies, calendars, resources, cost, sequence, etc. and allow the user to interact or provide progress with the data in a controlled environment.

Which better? 7 Day Calendar or 5 Day/working day Calendar for HIGH LEVEL 2 PAGE Design Build type schedule?

Which better? 7 Day Calendar or 5 Day/working day Calendar for HIGH LEVEL 2 PAGE Design Build type schedule?

- This is working on the assumption that when you want to keep it basic and high level that you don't want to mix calendars at that point because then you have to add a calendar column etc.  I think the 7 day calendar is better for this type of schedule, but want your opinion.

Slipped dates reset to baseline after "update progress"

T
Thomas Gude 👤 Member for 5 years 11 months

Hello All,

I am a fairly new user to Primavera P6, I am running a couple of schedules by using start dates and duration. Percentage complete is set to physical as the time passed on a task doesn't always reflect the amount of work completed.  There is also a baseline to record the slippages. I update progress once a week to move the date line and show tasks that have been completed.

Resource Modeling in P6 - Varying resource allocation on weekly basis.

Hi,

Probably this issue have been discusused in the past but if there is any solution to this problem

Is it possible to allocate different hours on weekly basis for one resource to an activity. Resources work on different projects and each week allocation of a resource to each project is not consistant and is based on required task. Single task requires different resources to work at the same task. How varing hours can be allocated to P6 activities.

How can this be modelled in Primavera P6?
