Primavera P6 Professional 26.4 - Default link type

Version 26.4 was released a couple of months ago.  The following "feature" has been added:

"Milestone Relationships Default to Finish-to-Start
When you assign relationships to milestones in P6 Professional, the default relationship type is finish-to-start. This change improves consistency across Primavera applications and makes it easier for you to ensure your schedules meet Defense Contract Management Agency guidelines, which state that at least 90% of relationships should be finish-to-start."

Troubleshoot when exporting from P6 to xls file with buget value over 1000

V
Viet Tran 👤 Member for 9 years 4 months

When exporting a report from Primavera P6 to an .xls file, any Budget values with a cost/unit of 1,000 or higher automatically shift to the wrong column (as shown in the attached screenshot).

Has anyone experienced this issue before, and could you please advise on how to fix it? Thank you very much for your assistance.

Use of AHK Scripts for automating things inside P6

E

Hello Planning Planet,

I wasn’t sure which forum would be best for this, but I’ve seen similar posts from newcomers or those switching platforms for a beginner friendly way to navigate and learn P6, so I thought I’d share here.

I’ve developed an AutoHotkey (AHK) script that streamlines several common tasks in planning software:

Use of date User Defined Fields in filters

I am using Primavera P6 Professional.

My team members need to be able to filter programme data between two dates.  One is the current programme Data Date - obviously this is available in the filter as "DD".  The second is the previous programme Data Date; P6 doesn't store this anywhere.

The filter that we are using is quite complex, and the date for the previous DD needs to be entered at least four times.  In addition, every month or so, the DD will change, and hence the previous DD will need to be updated in the filter.

Difficult to export only select predecessor and success data - only exports them all

J
John Reeves 👤 Member for 13 years 2 months

Opinion or Assistance requested:  Is there a different way to import & export to excel FILTERED pred / successor import data than to give the pred and successor a unique logic note code, then the matching activity a unique activity code.  Otherwise the problem, or bug, or tricky issue is that ALL relationships are exported - relationships DO NOT follow the activity filter export.  This makes is very difficult to import in activities with multiple users because the relationship import might over-right changes on other, non-filtered activities by others or say older select
