Calendar is causing budget to change

Hello;

I am starting to add budgeted labor units to my schedule.  The activities have a duration type of "Fixed Duration and Units/Time.

I set up my resource id's and assigned them to the activities.  When I go to add the budgeted labor units of say 100 , the budgetd labor units column says 80.  When I look at the detail I see the electrician has 100 budgeted labor units.  

User Preferences are: 

Resource Anaysis Tab

Opened Projects Only

Remaining Early dates

Custom Role Limit

Calculations Tab:

Recalcutate the units...

Assignements are both set to ask

Project Settings are: Calculations

Link Budget at completion

Reset Remaining Durations and Units to Original

Subtract Actual from At Completion

Link Actual to date and actual this period units and cost.

I cannot find that this is a setting feature - the resource calander is a standard 5 day workweek - and I have created new calendars.   Is there a setting Im missing?

this is based on your resource and what you have set for Default Units/Time if it is set to 8/d

then it takes 8*the duration and give the manhours 

so fo the duration is 10 days the 8*10= 80 manhours or units 

you can change them manually or do them all at once then export to excel change the manhours save it then import back into P6

A bit more detailed explanation please, Cynthia.

 

You add an actvity with what duration on what calendar

Then you add a resouirce assignmnet record, with a resource on what calendar

you add 100mhr into whiich field

Which budegeted labour units field (resource or activity) then says 80, or is it both
