For resource levelling there is no need to
1. Make the resources Driving
2. No need for making the activities independent or meeting.
The above functions are only needed when we want the reosurces to use their own specific calenders and want the crunching and stretching of the activties.
The only thing which you would be missing is to include the resources in the levelling dialog box.

Hi all,
do not forget to select the resources you want to level in the Level, Resources dialog
if you do not know WHICH resource is overloaded, select ALL resources
P3 will not level resources not selected here
Good luck,
Alexandre
There are few things you need to do for P3 to reschedule for a future date, an activity whose resource is not immediately available.
In addition to defining the resource limits and designating the resource as driving, you also need to select independent or meeting as the activity type. These selections will make P3 to recognize that the resource Calendar should be used in scheduling the activity and not the base calendar.
You also need to define the resource availability using the resource calendar (go to ‘Data’>> ‘Resources’ >> ‘Calendars’).
In leveling, P3 uses the combination of all these parameter to reschedule an activity whose resource is not available.
In summary try these steps:
1. Define the resource and resource availability using the resource calendar (go to ‘Data’>> ‘Resources’ >> ‘Calendars’).
2. Defining the resource limits
3. Designating the resource as driving
4. Choose independent or meeting as the activity type (if you select task as activity type, the base calendar will be used when leveling)
I am optimistic it would work.

Fro memory as I dont use Resources that often, I think you have to define the resource as a driving resource. Is this the case?
