Hi Ruben,

I agree. Besides crews depend not only on the orientation but also on organization. Different companies use differenet crews on different sites. But still it is necessary to indicate which resource is driving.

We prefer to use not manhours per square meter but square meters per manhour. It is easier to use because in this case productivity of the crew can be calculated as the sum of th crew driving resource productivities. Easier to calculate. Though it does not matter much because calculations are made by computer.

hi vladimir,

tnx for the reply.

it can be done this way :

ie. formworks : 4.97 mandays/sqm

ratio of installer to labor = 3.1 : 1.2

this is more useful in estimating activity duration since the number or workers that can be placed on a certain job will depend on the orientation of the item of works.

ie. vertical or horizontal, isolated or compressed

it will also be useful n calculating the labor cost.

We always create and use productivity databases implementing PM systems and Spider Project software. And these productivities are usually applied to the driving resources (quantity per resource hour). There is also a need to know the crew that is needed to perform the work. Sometimes these crews may be rather complex and in this case quantity per manhour applied to the crew manpower will not be useful. Some of the people are used for support works.
