How to schedule a resource to switch from a job to another

Hello,

I'm schedulling an engineering job, MEP.

the plan for mechanical as follows:

there are 3 desginers, each will take a division - pluming 1 engineer, HVAC 1 engineer, and FF 1 engineer.

each have a drawing list with assigned hours for each drawing, and WBS is agreed.

FF desginer will be the first to finish, so, I want him to support pluming, but only after he finishes his given task.

then when both FF and pluming finish, I want them to support HVAC.

How can I do that on P6.

Late units & Early units

Hi,

I have been posted to another project site and that is supposed to finish by 31 Dec this year. And have some strange result of man-hour report in the programme. The Remaining Late Units man-hors finishing 19 weeks (Nov 2016) earlier then the Remaining Early Units man-hours at the data date April 2016. The project finish date has projected up to Aug 2016. I couldn’t understand that, if anyone can explain me how / why this happens.

Late units & Early units

Hi,

What is a quick/fast way for defining activity relationships in complex project???

Dear Professionals, 



As we know, activity relationships can be easily defined in primavera. But, my question is that what is the fastest way of defining relationships for a complex project with 27,000 activities.

Resource Assignment

Hello, All

Please help me with my below query:

In User preference my time units for time is set in days.

Activity A is having original duration of 28 days. This activity requires 24 technician perday for 28 days.  So when i assign the technicain resource the budgeted units should be 24. ( bcoz the time units is set in day it will show 24d) .

Is this the right way ?

With above data when i see a histogram on resource usage profile with month as time scale do i need to take average?

CPM Longest Path theory is broken under resource leveling - It's use should be banned for Delay Claims in construction jobs.

If we can do Time Scale Change - Positive and Negative

Hello Everyone,

Just a doubt about if we can show the time scale to positive and negative.

Like the award )

Project award date would be 0 anything happening after the project award date would be positive dates like (Week) 1 ,2 3.

 

How can we show in the schedule the activities which happens before Project award date as negative like (week) -1 , -2 , -3 etc

Measuring of % progress with respect to duration weightage as explainded

The consultant requirement is to show in P6 “ % achieved “ with respect to duration  and not accepting resource based “ % achieved ”. The illustration of requirement by Consultant shown below. Can any one guide, how we can make ready in P6. Is it right measure to track project progress?
