What quantities do I need to consider when I am preparing a Baseline Programme "Clause 14 Programme" if there are differences between BOQ and contract drawings on a Remeasured Contract? Thanks

Float Negative

Hi,

I'm doing tracking of activities % for my project. I keep getting the total float for the activity which i updated negative eventhough the % is not zero and it started ahead of the scheduled date. Could anyone help me? Been cracking my head on this. Appreciate if someone could assist.

Thanks.

Articles and Discussion about Critical Path Drag and Drag Cost on LinkedIn

Two articles on LinkedIn have generated a lot of great discussion in the Comments. The articles, written by me, are titled “Seventeen Years Later, Doesn’t Critical Path Drag Belong in the Sixth Edition of the PMBOK® Guide” and “Drag Is NOT the Most Important Scheduling Metric – Drag Cost Is!”

I think members of this Group will find these articles interesting – but even more, will find the discussions in the Comments illuminating. I’d be delighted if you’d add your thoughtful comments as well, either here or in the Cooments section after the articles.

Remaining Late Units before Data Date

Hi everyone,

I was updating the progress. Wanted to extract actual & remaining labour units from primavera P6 R8.2in order to create Actual & Forecast curves.

I checked the forums, tried some options like:

- Negative Float - I have none

- Constraints - There are no constraints in the schedule, there is one Project constraint where you have to put Must Finish by x date. That comes after couple of months Early Finish Date.

Primaver P6 version 8.4 - Unactualizing Dates

Hello,

I am using P6 Version 8.4.  I've been noticing that my finish dates are unactualizing (the 100% stays but the finish date pushes out to the current data date) - just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how they fixed it.  I've had to revise some of the quantities (material units and labour units) I'm not sure if this would have anything to do with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Resource Curves issues

When using a resouce curves to assign cost to the very end of an eactivtiy, the cost is not always in the correct month if end of the activity is in the first few days of the month,

I assume that when creating a curve it doesnt actually have it as 100% at the end rather between 95%-100% hence the cost not appearing in the right month.

Can anyone explain a way of having the budgeted costs on the very last day of activity in resource assignemnt view?

Thanks

Does the construction materials procurement time get entered into the project plan?

Hello everyone!

I am a planning neophyte, and my first thought, was wether or not i should be entering the procurement time into my schedule. In this case, i'm buiding a cinema. The procurement time i've been given for ceiling materials by the suppliers is 6 to 8 weeks.

Does this get entered into my project plan? I'm assuming it does, because that way, it will show, that the adjoining task, installation of the ceiling, is not starting late because of poor planning, but because i'm waiting for the delivery of my materials.

Thank you

Change in critical path on conversion of programme from P6 to MSP

Hi,

On conversion of P6 programme in MSP, there are more crtitical activities in msp programme in addition to the critical activities of P6 programme. Has anyone came across such situation?
