Hi Guys/Gals,

I have a confusion about the difference between Window Analysis Method and Time Impact Analysis and also about Time Impact Anaysis and Time Impact Evaluation when use in Delay Analysis.

Please maybe some body out there can explain this jargons.

Thanks.

Jet grouting

S
Sunil Babu 👤 Member for 15 years 7 months

Dear All,

My question is based on soil stabilization related, in the shaft construction project

under which particular case we will prefer single fluid, double fluid, tripple fluid

jet gouting ? In my project our objective is to control or cut off the ground water seepage

(Before constucting base slab, inside the shaft we have to improve base condition by stopping seepage)

and to minimise the permiability of soil inorder to avoid future complications.

With Regards,

Sunil.

Struggling to get to grips with BIM?

A
Adrian Vann 👤 Member for 15 years 4 months

Are you comfortable working with BIM tools, or does it seem a bit daunting? Interested to know how many are actively engaged in BIM and who still see it as a challenge. For those who do see it as a challenge, what are the biggest concerns?

Asta and BIM Academy are running a 2 day workshop currently and attendees are saying how some hands on training helps make it clearer. If anyone else is looking for training the course is to be repeated in October

Float Burn Index

In response to a question in a Discussion group on LinkedIn, I posted some stuff about the Float Burn Index (FBI) that it dawned on me some people here might also find interesting. It's a little like the required run rate in a cricket chase -- a measure of how fast you have to go. Here it applies to non-critical paths.

There are several potential flavors: straight, and with a buffer, are two. I'll explain with a simple example of a straight FBI.

Scheduling Funded and Unfunded Work on a Large Infrastructure Project

All,

I am attempting to schedule a number of work streams to achieve a milestone on a large infrastructure project. Half of the work streams are fully funded and some have no funding at all but I have predicted procurement, engineering and construction timescales for them. Some people in the project want to only show the funded work in the live forecast schedules and have the unfunded works in a what if schedule whereas others want to show everything in the live forecast schedules.
