scheduling sequence in design and procurement

K
Kannan CP 👤 Member for 18 years

Hi all,

May i request you time to get some explanation regarding the design and the procurement in a major puming statiion. My understanding is like as follows,

1. For the design works, the main contractor will make the Process Flow Diagram(PFD) and the P&ID will follow.

2. The vendor will prepare the design of the major equipments(like pumps, transformers etc) based on the contract specification provided by the main contractor.

Productivity norms standards

Dear all,

Hello,

I am involved in a MEP construction project for a high rise project in UAE, I am missing the productivity norms/standard manhours for electrical activities in order to monitor and compare prcisely the planned and actual performance of the works done. If any body have some information or experience related to electrical works and help me in this matter I shall be very thankful.

Regards

/Mohsin

Oild and Gas Construction works - guideline for calculating the rate of work

A
Ashews Joe 👤 Member for 11 years 7 months

I am a new planning engineer with just a year of experience. I need to prepare the construction schedule for a chemical plant. I have the scope of work discipline wise. I am not able to determine the duration of each of the activities, example excavation. I know what the volume of work is but since I am not able to determine the rate of work, I am not able to determine the duration of activity. This is very critical as I need to determine an optimistic time frame for the construction works by rolling up all the individual activities.

The major works are

Road works - Best combination to track progress

Hi all,

I am new to planning feild, and need some help regarding the best combination to use in a road project

The exisiting schedule at my site have all the activities listed "% complete" types as "duration" for all the activities.

As its an expressway project, people are more concerened about the major commodities they achieve monthly and % progress tracking is done based on that in excel files. i hope with all the big road projects its like that.

Mostly activities are happening not as planned due to terrain restrictions and all those.
