Reviewing progressed activities

Hi all,

Can you suggest an easy way to review the progressed activities from contractor's updated program? I mean how can I simply filter all activities that was progressed within the week (reporting period) without having to scroll through thousands of activities to find the changes in Performance % btw this period and the last period. Preferably another approach besides the Claim Digger (To me...thats not so cool).

Thanks

Idris.

Calendar Issue

Good day !

This is my first post in this forum. Glad if someone who reading this willing to help.

My senior planner recently has sent me a Baseline programme in XER file, I try to open the file, but the Baseline start and finish date is different from his computer. I have double check the file to find out that we use the same XER file. My computer showing -2 days different from the actual finish date. I have deleted the project and import it back, yet still having the same problem.

Progress update of out of sequence activities

S
Sunil Babu 👤 Member for 15 years 7 months

Dear All,

What will be the effect of  updating an out of sequnce activity in a Baseline programme (Cost loaded) in a Villa Project.

Planned dates of that activity falls in the month of May, but actvity completed in the schedule period. (Schedule % is 0, Activity % is 100).

How will it affect the Performance %  ?. Settings for EV calculations are as follows.

1. Performance % equal to Activity %

2. ETC is equal to remaining cost.

3. Budgeted values with current dates.

4. Progress override

Best Regards,

Sunil.

Sequence of material submittal in the Program

K
Kannan CP 👤 Member for 18 years

Dear All,

In the Contractor submitted program, the submittal time period is levelled(manual linking) by linking it with " Material Sub contractor approval" with a FS (LAG) relation ship.

For eg: MEP sub contractor approval: 01-JAN 2015(Activity A)

Submittal of 1st material for approval: Link with Activity A (FS)

Submittal of 2nd material for approval: Link with Activity A (FS +14 days)

Submittal of final material for approval: Link with Activity A (FS +30 days).

The Contractor is arranging the materials based on the Construction timing in the program.

Scheduling With Constraints

Hi Everyone,

Could you please shed more lights on the essence of throwing-in lots of constraints in a schedule. I am reviewing a schedule where around 15 Finish ON/Before, Start On, Finish On/After constraints exist.

Most amazing to me, most of this constraints are used under WBS- Control Milestones EVEN THOUGH the end dates of the related activities doesn't correspond to the control milestone. Below are few illustrations:

Control Milestones:

1. Mock Up Finish  - 15/10/15 (Finish ON/Before
