opening old P6 sql and sql lite databases when nobody knows the password

J
John Reeves 👤 Member for 13 years 1 month

We don't have to deal with now with ver 18 as much.  I am refering to the previous versions that used SQL and SQL Lite - I have been a scheduler for 30 years, have never had data worthy of a password, and always had problems with this issue.   Imagine if every excel password had to have a password, its like that - rediculous.  IT people set up the databases and are long gone or don't recall the password - and on top of that is an "alias" that you also have to know and it makes for a terrible situation.  Plus it was common to get disconnected from the databases.&nbsp

Calendar Days do not match Calendar Hours?

Hi,

I have a calendar running 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. It is assigned as the Activity default calendar. When I create a new activity with a duration of 3 days and then change my User Preference to show Duration in Hours, the hours are only 24 but I expected them to be 30.

Why is this happenning? 3 days on a 10 hour per day calendar should be 30 hours but it appears to be referencing an 8 hour day.

You help would be greatly appreciated.

Rod

Showing productivity changes with different Resource Calendars

D
Dejan Kezic 👤 Member for 8 years 2 months

Hi everyone, I am kindly asking for help about following problem.

I need to show lower productivity per several resources in my schedule in winter period. Those resources are commodities.

Other resources (manpower and equipment) as well as activities should be intacted.

So my idea was that I will keep on using original project calendar (7 days x 10 hours) for activities and mapower/equipment resources, and modified calendar (summer months 7 days x 10 hours and winter months 6 days x 6 hours)  for a.m. commodity resources.

Purpose of Retired activities in Schedule

N
Nathan Siva 👤 Member for 12 years 1 month

Hi Expats,

In one of my UK clients schedule, they advised  to retire completed activites and non performing activites in the schedule. and my collegues recommended to change the duration of non performed activities duration to 1D in the schedule to avoid those activities in critical path.

Can you please explain the purpose of retiring the activities in the schedule?
