programme to contract start date

Hello All

I've been asked to create a template that can be used by inserting a "go live" date and all mobilisation tasks would sit behind this date, this is a two fold request a,

a: user friendly template

b: show risk to tasks that would prevent  "go live" on the contract date

any help would be appreciated

regards

"Necking" Bars on Gantt Chart - MSP2007

Hi,

Apologies if this has been covered before.

I'm trying to show a task bar "necked" where there is no working time. In this case, I have a number of tasks that have a calendar that only allows work to take place between April and October, so I want to show the "non-working" period (i.e.

Publishing in EPM

L
Lucy Ward 👤 Member for 13 years 4 months

Hi, new to this site and fairly new to planning so please forgive.

I want to run some cost&resource profiled from MSP using the data in EPM.

I know i need to publish the plan to run this data but what wil happen to the version of the same plan saved in the 'published area' as opposed to the 'working area' where my plan currently sits?

Thanks

% work Complete field

I am updating a project whos resource type is material, when I an updating the % work complete its not not rolling up to show the overal percentage work complete.

I have tried to change the resource type to work, how ever its giving me an overload on the resource before I can specify the maximun number of units and its pushing the project competion out by a couple of years.

How do I show the overall total number of physical work (hrs)

Fixed duration, fixed units, fixed work, effort driven. How and why and when use all of it?

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 4 months

Dear all,

If I look at it, Microsoft Project effectively has 5 types of tasks (fixed duration, fixed units, fixed work. Plus each of them can be either effort driven or not effort driven, except fixed work, which is always efforts driven)

I  am using MS Project quite for a while, but I could never really understand, why Microsoft effectively has 5 types of tasks, why it is needed, and in which situation use one and not the other.  For my schedules I use most of the time fixed duration and sometimes fixed work.

Does anyone has a good guideline about this?

Problems Hiding Time within Start & Finish Column in MS Project 2007

I am looking for help with hiding the time within my start and finish column of my schedule.

This schedule is being planned in hours on a 24/7 calander (Offshore Installation Schedule) and currently my start and finish columns show the date and time of the start and finish of each activity.  For Example 12/6/12 8:54am.  When I choose a different date format within Options ==> View to a format without the time on it the current date/time does not change.

Does anyone know what could be causing this and how to fix it?
