CE's on NEC3

I have 3 CE's on a project that have been accepted by the PM as having an effect on the price and consequently increased the target price, but they were never impacted on the accepted schedule at the time of being agreed.
Errors in the previously accepted programme have now been rectified and the newly accepted schedule now puts tasks associated with one of the CE's on the critical path. To assess its impact on the LD date and any key dates, is it acceptable to do the analysis on the newly accepted programme?

Knowing When To Stop

Working on a Claims report supporting arbitration, mediation and possibly adjudicatrion.

At what point do you stop. You have researched the claim and the nature of causation,

realising that the records are demonstrating that your client is mainly at fault against the contract.

That in which ever process, the costs are escallating and your case will not win.

When do you as a consultant say stop, settle on this point, move on with the job.

Contractors Impacted As Planned

J
John Kelly 👤 Member for 14 years 10 months

Hi All,

Seeking some advice with regards to an EOT that has been submitted by a Contractor.

The Contractor has impacted the Baseline schedule with employer culpable events to demonstrate his entitlement to an extension of time.

By impacting the baseline with numerous employer events (individually), the Contractor relies upon the event with the greatest impact to justify his EOT.

The Contractor has quoted various court cases  such as Henry Boot v Malmaison (1999) as justification to EOT regardless of his own delays.

The Contractor has not cla

Windows Analysis - What does it mean?

A
Alan Whaley 👤 Member for 12 years 8 months

Hi Guys,

New to posting but have been a keen reader for a while. There are some very talented users on here.

So my question is this: What is the accepted practical definition of a Windows Analysis?

So far I have used a few methods involving 'Windows':

1. Float Mapping / 'As-Is' analysis

2. As-Planned Vs As Built review of windows

3. TIA (UK definition) - Impacting the start of each window, adding progress to identify 'concurrent' delay at the end of each window

Delay Analysis

E
Ess Lingard 👤 Member for 12 years 8 months

I am trying to calculate delay to a project - there is nothing contractually written that states anything to do with extensions of time within the contract, however, the client and contractor both agreed to re-baseline the schedule when delay started to occur.  This occured several times with four revised baselines agreed between both parties - therefore my question is this:

Choosing a methodology

E
Ess Lingard 👤 Member for 12 years 8 months

Dear All who can help;

I am a student studying delay analysis and i have a hypothetical project whereby a project has been partially completed and the two parties are in dispute over contract continuation.  I do not wish to discuss the legalities of the topic as my assignment is in regards to the delay analysis, therefore my question is:

Do i need two types of delay analysis?  One to calculate the delay of the completed phases of the project and one to project the delay of the uncompleted tasks?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Activity Relationship - Predicament

Hi all,

I have recently been made aware that the schedule should have most of the activities with FS links to make out a sensible (delay) analysis.

So, I have tried to prepare a schedule in line with the above philosophy.

I have observed the following points (difficulties) while doing so:

1)       I found out that the activities (at site) are in general taken up in parallel.
