Starting Schedule Date for New Scope

Dear All,

I would like to ask how to develop claim schedule for the new scope in the middle of work execution  to the Contractor.

What will be the schedule starting date for new scope?

Will it be plotted on the date in the current schedule when Contractor received the Company Instruction or the date in the Baseline schedule?

Regards,

Tandyo

Combination (copy paste) of the updated files.

Hi,

I have a programme to get an impact of two events from an Employer (I am the contractor side). The history is

1-      Just before three months of the contractual finish date the contractor receives a package of site instructions.

2-      The contractor claimed an interim EOT-1 (because that was known that another package of SI is in the pipe line) which was approved by the Employer.

Delay Analysis to Activities not listed in the schedule

D
Dimple Dean 👤 Member for 10 years 7 months

Hi all! We have an approved schedule that the block works and internal plaster activities are combined (single activity only with 30 days duration). Client issued variation order to change internal plaster thickness, now my problem is how can you link the delay event to internal plaster activity if block works and internal plaster are single activity only? Thanks in advance!

Why "Fragnet"

M
Mike Testro 👤 Member for 20 years 5 months

Good Morning Analysts

I dislike the term "Fragnet" used by some analysts to describe a series of events inserted into a barchart to represent delaying events.

Why Fragnet - is it supposed to a connection of "Fragmented Network"? If so then why so?

I suspect that the term is meant to make the analysts art even darker - in which case it should be banned.

I agree that the process is sound which is why I place the delaying events into a Sub-Chart - even a Judge can understand that plain English.

Best regards

Mike Testro

Site Instructions Vs. Variation Orders in Assessing EOT

D
Dimple Dean 👤 Member for 10 years 7 months

Hi All!

I am working on a Client side, I have a project scenario as below.

1.       In our project, the conditions of contract states that Contractor cannot proceed without the approval of V.O.

2.       Site Instructions has issued to Contractor before the approval of V.O. and on actual Contractor started V.O. works on site before the V.O. was approved by Client.

Time Impact Analysis

Members,

I’ll start of thanking anyone in advance for reply to my post below.

This started as a discussion between my boss and I, in respects to a TIA (time impact analysis) and what should we monitor against, either Dates (Early start/finish) or TF (Total Float), we both had different views.

Total Float

I have always conducted and reviewed TIA based on the impact to the critical path, the method is, progress the programme to the point of the delay – record the TF of the progress of the works.
