Spider Project Scheduling Logic Issues

Dear all,

I'm currently have 11.01.28 version of Spider Project.

In general I'm impressed with the overall performance and easiness of Spider Project.

Recently only I started working in Spider with a programme having actuals.

I noticed that there might be an error / wrong scheduling calculation and I wanted to share it with you in order to help me understand this issue, and if this calculation is different in newer versions.

I have created a sample programme which you can find it attached here.

How To Deal With Activity Steps

Dear all,

I currently have a big project seted up. It has a total of 21,000 activities.

The current level of detail of the activities is activity type per building & floor.

What I want to achieve is to introduce somehow rooms per floor & put priorities on them.

Also activity steps.

For example the activity is: Building X03 - GR Floor - Installation of Doors

Actual Start and Actual Finish

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 4 months

Dear all,

I am just checking on the actual data input in Spider, which is a bit different from MS Project and Primavera.

Soppuse activity started a bit not when it was supposed to start and / or finished a bit later. How do I enter actual start and actual finish? I do not see columns for actual start and actual finish

Assignment of productivity to activity type

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 4 months

Dear all,

I am just looking for functionality in Spider which i think must be there, but I can't find it.

What I am looking for is that there must be a way not to assign productivity of every resource to every activity. Especially not when you assign skills.

what i would expect, is that I would be able to mark activity to be of a certain type (e.g. digging trench, laying bricks etc). And then I would expect to for every resource to enter productivity for special activity type.

E.g. Excavator 1 - has this productivity X

Excavator 2 - has this productivity Y

Skills - Partial Workload

Vladimir,

I need a little help understandin partial workload and skills.

As far as I know (and tried) you cannot assign partial workload at the skill level, only at the resource level in the skill. when doing so Spider doesn't apply the partial workload if the skills have 100 workload, even though the resources inside the skill are set for partial workload.

However, if you assign the value of the minimal workload to the skill workload then Spider applies the partial workload to the rest of the activities.
