Formulas and Modifiers

Hello Vladimir,

For some time I have been trying to figure out how to use modifiers in formulas but I am at a loss regarding their use. I manage to create formulas using modifiers but it's more of a trial and error process.

I found it useful to be able to set distance lags for infrastructure projects. In order to use such a lag I use the following fields:

Practical questions on working with optimistic, expected and pessimistic schedule

E
Evgeny Z. 👤 Member for 18 years 4 months

Hi, everbody.

I am just looking at Spiders risk analysis section.

As I understand, the idea is to have 3 schedules: optimistic, expected and pessimistic.

The parctical question is on how to maintail them all 3 in parallel.

I can imagine how I will start it: create Probable schedule, then save it with siffix_pes and and change durations to make it possimicrics and then save with the suffic _opt and make it optimistic.

The question is on how to maintain all 3 schedules going forward:

Material Supply Automation

Vladimir,

Spider has the functionality to create and asign users in order to distribute projects and send notices before the execution of the workpackage will begin.

I am interested in something that I don't know if it is capable, such as:

Similar to the mechanism of creating users in order to send notices toward managers of workpackages I would like to know if it is possible create users (a user would be a material vendor) and send notices to material vendors for material quantities that should be supplied the next week/month.

Best regards,

Bogdan

Spider Macros

Hello Vladimir,

in the latest versions of Spider Macros have been introduced as a new functionality. There are two types of macros:

  1. Internal, from what I understand these are macros applied at the project (file) level;
  2. External, from what I understant these are macros applied at the application level, for several projects (files).

Could you please elaborate more about them and maybe give us an example for both internal and external macros?

Best regards,

Bogdan

Resource cost rounding

Hello Vladimir,

Materials in Spider have an option called Discrete Consumtion which rounds up the consumtion of the material (granted the Backload consuption is set to No).

So here is my question, is there a way to do this with resources?

Example:

Backhoe is paied by the day even if it works for 2 hours or for 8. I would like to know if there is a way to take this into account when calculating costs.

Best regards,

Bogdan

Reference-books and Typical Fragment Library

Corporate project management system usually includes the databases (reference-books) of the corporate standards and templates.

These templates usually include the library of typical fragments that are small projects describing creation of typical project elements.

In construction projects these elements may include building the wall, column, floor, 1km of the pipeline (separate for different soil categories), etc.
