As a result of the continued growth in our community membership we are having to upgrade our server and the databases that house the sites content.
You may have noticed some short periods of site down-time recently, this is due to us having to reconfigure and install hardware and software upgrades and reboot the server.

The good people at Oracle Primavera are organising an ONLINE WEBCAST VIDEO to tell us about a topical issue with respect to the Oracle Primavera system(s). This is exclusive to us, the independant planning community.
They plan to show it on their Oracle website in mid December 2009. PP are awating specific details of the content and will advise the community as soon as the details are finalised.

As you know we have engaged with Oracle / Primavera recently, and one of the primary reasons was because you the membership told us you wanted to engage directly with the Software Vendors in our Industry to be able to give them feedback about their products and to have the opportunity to learn more about the range of products available to us from one of the Industries largest vendors.
Planning Planet (PP) the worlds’ largest online community of Planners and Project Controllers has entered into an Agreement with Oracle.
This is an important step in the ongoing development of Planning Planet as the site opens up to Corporate Subscribers who contribute to the community from an employer, supplier or recruitment perspective. Ensuring success in this new venture, PP has uniquely implemented an account management structure to agree and deliver subscribers goals from the website.

The PP Private Message System is now back on. Sorry for the delay.
It was switched of as a number of recruiters (We know you you are!) were abusing it and contacting people about jobs on a cold-calling basis and we were getting a lot of complaints (usually 10 to 20 emails per day).
The upgraded system will tell us when a recruiter uses it for this purpose....we can then approach them and 'suggest that they stop' or leave the PP Community.
