Activity % Complete in Totals and Sub-totals do not appear

Hi Planning Experts,

Currently I am updating my programme in P6. My programme is resource loaded with manpower and material. In updating I am using Activity % complete in the column and physical % as the percent type. But after updating there I cannot see the % complete in the total and subtotals (or wbs bars). Need help and advise.

Thank you.

Hey Arvin , i got your problem. Understand one thing P6 never shows summary % complete in Activity % column. Chew on it. To know % progress at summary level you have to add Performance % Complete column.

Now switch to P6 and do that first before you continue.

Voila!! there you go, now you can see the % complete and can thank me for that.

However if P6 still doesnt show the % complete at sumary level follow the below steps.

I want you to check if you have assigned cost for your resources.

If not, P6 is not going to give you a damn % complete on Summary level.

So you have two options:-

1. If you do not want your schedule to be cost loaded, just put resource Price/unit as 1/unit. Recalculate assignment cost. This will get you going. Or

2. Load the actual cost of resources and materials, you have the % complete in summary bars.

I hope this solves your problem.

Hi Arvin,

Activity percent complete will not roll up (summary%) to WBS level, only for each activities.

1) Admin > Admin preferences > Earned Value. Ensure "techique for calculating performance % complete" is selected as "activty % complete"

2) Display the column "performance % complete". This will show in totals.
