I haven’t read Nicholas Carnell’s Book “Causation and Delay in Construction Disputes” by Tony Bingham gives it the thumbs up in the following review: http://www.tonybingham.co.uk/column/2000/20000929.htm
Even though it was written some five years ago it is no doubt still very relevant; my own choice of reference book on claims, however, is Keith Pickavance’s “ Delay and Disruption in Construction Contracts” , although it is also from 2000 but still very relevant.

If you are interested in learning about Delay Claims, you can’t do better that the CD compendium, “PPG #1: Contracts and Claims, Second Edition (CD) , James G. Zack, Jr., Editor, AACE International, 2000.” It is a collection of important papers written on the subject organized into one CD. You can find it on the web at https://www.aacei.org/bookstore/cgi-bin/shop.cgi?CustomerID=697170951an…. The CD is just recently updated and contains 1380 pages. It costs $38.50 for AACE members and $53.50 if you are not.
I have reviewed a copy and am very impressed. It has 19 chapters, an Author Index, and a Chronological Index. If this doesn’t scare you away from doing professional claims work, then maybe this demanding vocation is for you.
