progress against critical path

The Schedule is a live document. The approved Schedule is your baseline. This is what you measure your progress against. You do not measure the progress against the critical path. Critical Path are activities with float zero or negative (later on).
Each day the float on your activities decreases. So if you dont complete the activity, and the float is gone, it becomes critical.

is it practical? anybody measuring progress by this method?
critical path only changes once you make updates, just dont forget to keep the baseline
how it can be as critical path keeps on changing???
try to create filter to show only the critical path, and then make updates
