just use your old method, but instead of WK1....wks....just leave it blank....

I had a good experience with Excel; it opened the file with the fields under different cells. Then I could run an Excel filter very easily.
There are many ways to skin a cat, you should use the one best fit you.

I managed to open it through DBF, however, the results I got are not the same as I convert it through WK1 and WKS.

The DBF format can be read by Excel 2007, just it will not open it automatically.
You have to either:
1) Right click on the dbf file, select open with, and choose Excel.
2) You can set up your system to open DBF file extension with Excel automatically.
You can download the movie, there you will see the file format is in DBF and that it was opened using Excel 2007, you will recognize 2007 ribbon.
To unpack the file you might need some utility like IZArc, you can downoad it from the foloowing link.

I have no much work for the moment so if I can be of any help don’t hesitate to ask for more assistance if you wish.
I am also to try Dieter suggestion as another avilable alternative, although I still believe with a right click and open with Excel saves you a step. Note that the wks conversion utility does not work with Excel 2007, that there will be a stand alone utility but is not avilable yet.

EXCEL 2007 doesn’t support wks/wk1. The following link contains a freeware:

But: I never used it. So I can’t give any information on its liability.

When importing it is often easier to work with the DBF format which may be opened with Excel.
