a) Open the projects you want to insert, then click Window, New window, select the projects and click OK; in this case, the projects inserted in the new window are linked to the source files
b) Click Insert, Project, and select one by one the projects you need; in this case, it is possible to link (default) or not (clear the check box)
If you use this second method and do not link the target to the source, it is 10% normal that the inserted projects (I should say "tasks") will not be deleted if you delete the source (I should say "original") projects, and vice versa.
Hope this helps

They could be tasks that you put into the Master project.
You didnt say which view you are using. If its Resource Usage then they could be tasks that were part of a project schedule you inserted while using a resource pool and then lost/mangled the links to that file.
You havent really given us a lot to work from. You didnt mention the version or service pack number you have, you havent told us which view you are using, you say "delete" and "move" but its not clear if you mean within the project or within the folder and "doesnt work at all" is -- you must admit -- not exactly a very precise description of your situation.

Kirpal,
To insert projects can be made in two ways:
a) Open the projects you want to insert, then click Window, New window, select the projects and click OK; in this case, the projects inserted in the new window are linked to the source files
b) Click Insert, Project, and select one by one the projects you need; in this case, it is possible to link (default) or not (clear the check box)
If you use this second method and do not link the target to the source, it is 10% normal that the inserted projects (I should say "tasks") will not be deleted if you delete the source (I should say "original") projects, and vice versa.
Hope this helps

Hi Kirpal,
What service pack are you using?
I had a similar problem with MS Project 2k3, I downloaded SP3 and haven’t had any problems since.
