Try to check if you have constraints applied on those activities that generate negative floats...
With regards to baseline updating, I agree with Anoon...

you dont have to make multiple copies of the baseline, i suggest you study what a Data Date is...
thank you mr. anoon for your reply...however, how do i get the the planned progress of every activity for a certain period of time? what we usually do here is that i make a copy of the baseline schedule then i would run that copy, CTRL+F9, to get the planned progress...is there a better way? Tnx a lot...
i dont understand why youre doing it, in principle, you dont have to update the Baseline, you update only the current schedule.
in updating baseline in order to get the planned progress, you dont have to change anything, you update it perfectly as planned.
