Hello,
If you are not using the leveling function, you can use the native MSP field "priority".
But, If you want to preserve for the future the use of this function, I recommend to use a customisable field of MS Project (like number1), paste in this field the Pimavera Breakdown structure and sort with it !

The only way to get is to show in the order that you want, is to apply an initial numeric coding. ie.
1. Project Management
2. Design.
3. Manufacture
4. Installation
5. Commissioning.
If you dont, then you are quite right in that it will order them alphabetically.

Also, I tried this, and it seems to be grouping alphabetically by "description" vs. the input code, so 1-SB had no impact but 1-Submittal did.
That was my back-up plan, but I wanted to see if there was a way to group it the same way its grouped in the "drop-down menu," before trying that approach...for aesthetic reasons, but push come to shove, I could certainly try that. I just figured it if had assigned it in some priority in the "drop-down menu," there might be some way to also have it grouped in a similar fashion.

Why dont you say "Row 1=1-SB, Row 2=2-CN"?
This way, MSP will keep the order you want
