I think it is the same as in Western Australia due to the resource boom of China.



I been told that if you have two fingers you will able to earn A$100k/y and if you have a bit more than two fingers, then your income will be ... so planner, you know where to go.

I will say it again. Dont leave home without your LAHA living away from home allowance. This way you can package 2 years of rent, car hire, doctors, dentists bills, utilities prior to the heavy tax.

BUT you have to do this BEFORE entering a contract.

I did this retrospectively but got my tax back. If you want a good OZ tax accountant e mail and I will you her name.

Box clever, rent for two years but buy land. End of tax free period then you either built own home or sell the land.

Don’t forget the heavy tax you have to pay when working in Australia aroung 40%. That is what is scaring off a lot of planners I’m sure.

it ranging from 36-46 hrs per week for normal planning position



for FIFO it si usually more in a weekly base. but in a annual base its more or less the same

I have been involved in planning, project management and scheduling for over 20 years here in Australia, the UK Middle East and SE Asia.



I am currently in Australia.



Generally in this country the big engineering contractors use planners/Schedulers (often called schedulers alone)



There is a general shortage.



IT implementation projects use planners



But often these jobs are not advertised

U have given A$ 40 - 100 an hour. How many hours of work can be expected in a month in a full time job. I’ll do some comparisons.

There is a critical shortage fo good quality planning staff especially in the oil and gas business in Alberta.



Look up job opportunities in the Calagary Herald newspaper online.



I work as a consultant to a major oil company her in Calgary, but also have relationship with an EPC company.



Boom in oilsands projects leads to "warm body" hiring. Tough to get good staff.

Tougher yet to get planners not just P3 mechanics!

Yes I am living in Australia (Sydney)

Experience Planner here is in shortage espically senior post

Paid ?? Average I can get 5 times much as what I am earning here

Working in here, if you below 30 you can have a backpacker visa that allows you work 3 months with any one employer

Once you landed and if you are good ... your employer can sponsor you

Or some company do head hunt and sponsor people to Australia

At least I know two planner in PP came here recently

Or you can just apply for skill migrant it is very good time to do that, the quota is increase a lot in next FY



If you have a whole family I recommend option 2 or 3

Single Option 1 is also a good alternative if you can afford some risk

I think Alex could answer well to your queries. He is in Australia i think. There is a demand for Planners in Australia but you should have immigration card(something like)first. Less opportunity for planners in NZ (according to one of my friends currently living in NZ).
