RE: Application for Senior Contracts Manager / Claims & Forensic Delay Specialist
Dear Members of Planning Planet
Hi,
I have had a few queries from new PC starters for a introductory course in PC over the internet, preferably free.
Can anyone recommend anything?
thanks.
Peter
There is a new Group in LinkedIn named EOT Training Academy.
It started yesterday and there are aleady 1,800 active members.
The group is open to anyone interested in learning Delay Analysis methods and HOW to apply them.
The training programme derives from 10 Tuition Modules which can be purchased individually and studied at your own pace in your own time.
There will be a Certificate of Competence issued to any member that assimilates all the Modules and exceed 70% in a multi choice QA test.
We particularly welcome Students and young aspirants.
Having been a Planner for 12 years on P6, MSP and Pertmaster I have an interest in and feel that the future of Planning is the move towards 4D Planning and its incorporation into Gantt and Site Planning.
Having recently retired from the industry after 50 years service I put together a "book" on the ROLE of planning within the UK Engineering & Construction Industry. I thought one or two other people might want to enjoy and pass comment so if you want a copy post me.
IT IS NOT A HOW TO PLAN BOOK. THEY EXIST IN THEIR THOUSANDS.
IT IS NOT A HOW TO USE THE SOFTWARE BOOK. THEY EXIST AS MANUALS
But it tries to highlight topics such as
Industry - UK size, profitability, clients
I am Mike Testro and I am a Consultant Delay Analyst. I am a builder with 60 years experience including 40 years on EOT. I know what I am talking about on this subject.
I am offering a one day Peer Review of your Delay Analysis EOT claim.
Have you covered everything?
Have you got all the right contract clauses?
What have you probably missed?
I can and will strengthen your submission.
Best regards Mike T.
Hi everyone,
I am hoping to further advance my career in PC, and was wondering if anyone taken the CCT (certified cost technician exam), and if it helped with their career?
Was the exam difficult and heavily math oriented (one of the study text books seems a bit hard to study if you don’t have a strong math background)?
Did it help you with your career?
I have a PMP.
Thanks in advance!!
Hi
I have been shortlisted to attend an interview for a project manager position next week. Part of the recruitment process includes a presentation on the following -
"If I asked you to invent a new language, how would you go about it?"
I have a few initial ideas but would really appreciate the thoughts of any experienced PMs.
Thanks
My new job is going to pay for a certification for me. I am an FEL-level TIC estimator and have been so primarily for about 7 years. Prior to that I have been a construction and a design project manager for both owner and engineering firms for about 5 years. I am non-degreed and got my start as a craftsman in the piping trades which I did for approximately 9 years before moving into project management/control roles. I have no other professional credentials. This has never held me back in my career, but if the offer is on the table, I'm going for it.
