 Mowlem Railways – Construction Manager

Promoted to Construction Manager reporting to the Operations Manager, and responsible for managing a team of Engineers, Planners, Works Supervisors and Labour gangs in the delivery of track renewal projects. Liaising with the client and ensuring all areas of work complied with the relevant QA, Standards and H&S systems. Assisting in tendering works through the provision of resourced programmes and methodologies using P3 and Microsoft Project. Construction Projects managed in this role were:

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, responsible for the management of a project team of planners, QS, Supervisors, installation gangs and sub-contractors in the delivery of civils construction works (Concrete Signal bases, earthworks etc) in support of re-signalling schemes with the companies Framework Partner, Westinghouse Rail Systems Ltd.

• In charge of the preparation of a baseline network analysis programme complete with resource loading. 
• Recording and reporting the actual progress of the work versus the planned work in P6 and RMS 3.0 system.
• Monitoring all activities in the project schedule for potential delays, and regularly update claims and variation logs.
• Prepare the 3 weeks look-ahead schedule for weekly coordination meeting
• Prepare the monthly progress report and the monthly interim progress payment.
• Prepare the Time Impact Analysis and other necessary substantiation

1. Prepared resource loaded Programmes for complex technical projects using MSP and P6
2. Effectively administered and discharged NEC Contract Programme requirements
3. Secured Extension of Time claims by demonstrating acceptable excusable delay events in Project Programmes

Managing creation and piloting phases of engineering and procurement, detailed construction planning for the project of equipment of tunnel of lakhdaria in Algeria.                       

Re-deployed to Group Human Resources, Corporate Headquarters, Abuja following de-secondment from Brass LNG Project. Worked in the Facilities Management Department while awaiting posting on the new revised corporate organogram.
